Having led an active 20’s dominated by travelling overseas, surfing, excessive alcohol consumption, and an unhealthy diet, in 2007 I experienced what I call a ‘quarter life’ crisis. I was in a career I had no passion for (Investment Banking Administration) and my body began manifesting several aches, including chronic lower back pain. I went to physiotherapists, acupuncturists, and chiropractors but they only provided short term relief. Then a chiropractor suggested I attend one yoga class per week. This provided the most effective form of long term physical relief. It also assisted me to calm my mind and clear the mental obstacles that were stopping me from pursuing a career aligned with my interests and passions.
In 2010, I completed my yoga teacher training with Body Mind Life in Sydney, quit my job, and have not looked back. I am also currently studying Psychology at QUT, which combined with yoga are forming the foundation for a career as a healer, human potential and health educator.
I love to teach yoga as it offers something for everyone regardless of your age, flexibility, or fitness level. If you can breathe, then you can engage in this ancient form of movement & stillness and reap benefits! So come along to class sometime – I look forward to assisting you on your path to optimal health.
